The focus behind the site’s development was to link buyers to the product they need according to the item, size, packaging, location and best available price. Currently, without this system, the process can be cumbersome and entails sifting through numerous price sheets on a daily basis to find the product needed. Fresh Produce Locator will find the product at the best price amongst its selling members with just a few clicks. In order for a buyer to gain access to the site they must be accredited according to industry credit services standards, such as Red Book Credit Services. Sellers can
post prices or price sheets with confidence knowing that the site is secure and only buyers can see their pricing. The site also allows sellers to post organic and hot deal items. There are no online transactions, transaction fees or bidding on the site. As an additional feature a Services Section allows companies that serve the agricultural industry to advertise their products and services to anyone visiting the site.
