Plantation, Florida – Fresh Quest, Inc., is proud to announce the successful development and distribution of a new melon variety.
Fresh Quest, has been selling Honeymoon since January, 2014. This melon has a golden exterior color, light green flesh and a delightfully sweet flavor and aroma.
Fresh Quest’s Guatemalan farms are able to produce Honeymoon from late December through April with peak volume availability in March and April.
“Thus far, retail demand for Honeymoon has been very positive,” said Alan Guttmann, President of Fresh Quest. “At first, we were not sure that there would be enough demand to justify importing 250,000 cases, but it turns out that we are oversold through April. We are actually already writing Honeymoon contracts for the next offshore season.”
Honeymoon is the first of 3 new melon varieties that Fresh Quest plans to launch in North America over the next year. “Our plan is to develop a line of melon varieties that guarantees flavor,” continued Alan Guttmann. “Mayamoon™, a super-sweet orange-fleshed yellow honeydew, is already commercially available this year in limited quantities.”
