Frieda’s Angelcot Season Begins Mid-June

LOS ALAMITOS, CA – Frieda’s exclusive Angelcots® are set to return mid-June. These “heavenly white apricots” are a specialty hybrid of Moroccan and Iranian apricot varieties, grown in Northern California exclusively for Frieda’s, and available from three to six weeks a year. They are packed in 16/1 lb. clamshells.

“As each season nears, we hear from shoppers and retailers who have tasted Angelcots and can’t wait for the season to start!” said Karen Caplan, president and CEO of Frieda’s. “We take pre-bookings every year, so I urge you to call us today.”

Angelcots’ pale-yellow skin—with a pale-peach blush—is covered with a fine, velvety fuzz. The beautiful fruit has the right balance of acid and sugar, along with that buttery, perfume-like sweetness. They have the juiciness of the ripest nectarine and the delicate texture and aroma of an apricot, with floral and tropical notes. Angelcots are also rich in vitamins A and C, as well as being a good source of fiber.

Interested retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice distributors can contact Frieda’s for product information and high resolution images.
