Globalmex's Magic Sun Debuts New Branding Program At Viva Fresh

Richmond, VA – Globalmex International, Inc., a leader in high-tech hydroponic growing in Mexico, today announced the unveiling of a new brand re-design for its Magic Sun tomato product line at the Viva Fresh Show. (Booth #113)

The move is designed to help Magic Sun tell its story to partners and the industry, as well as create a more engaging and customer-centric image. The comprehensive brand redesign includes six integrated upgrades: Magic Sun company logo, tag line, website, trade show booth, packaging redesign, and new shipper boxes. Customers and industry partners can expect the new look to transition in May.

“We have always concentrated on growing the freshest, healthiest and most flavorful tomatoes. Magic Sun’s success is based on a shared commitment from all of our growers to focus on continuous improvement and to get better across all areas of the business. The new tagline flowed from this effort and identifies a simple but very clear strategic direction: ‘Better Farming. Better Food. Better Future’. These words characterize the Magic Sun brand promise and how we make a difference with our partners, associates and customers,” said Alejandro Santander, Vice President of Sales and Operations.

Integrated across all channels, the rebranding program provides greater brand consistency with Magic Sun’s operations from growing, packing, and shipping to marketing of its full product line of hydroponic tomatoes. The design was created with a simple but distinctive look to better identify the company with its main product line. The new company logo and high impact packaging are designed to increase visibility of the brand and broader product line at point of sale. The new packaging showcases a comprehensive product line that gives retailers a selection of conventional and organic varieties to offer customers for sautéing, grilling, roasting, slicing, snacking and using in fresh salads.

New packaging was developed for the conventional and organic varieties in clam shells, mesh bags, poly bags and shipper boxes.

“Our market research indicated that consumers want to clearly see the product through the packaging and are attracted to enticing images of the tomatoes in use,” stated Anthony Otto, Magic Sun Sales Manager. “There is also a shift toward smart packaging that is easier to handle and not oversized or cumbersome.”

A redesigned Magic Sun website (MagicSunFarms.com) gives visitors an insider’s perspective on the brand’s commitment to Better Farming. Better Food. Better Future. “We’ve greatly expanded the content to give our distribution partners, retailers and consumers alike additional information about our varieties and programs. This helps broaden awareness about our overall brand and is another touch point for showing how we embrace sustainable growing practices,” said Santander.

In addition to a comprehensive brand redesign, Magic Sun continues to evolve greenhouse growing operations each year to better meet consumer and retail partner demand for organic and conventional varieties. Significant investment in organic production, research and new technology, as well as increased acreage, has enhanced Magic Sun’s overall yield with organic produce. Year-round production of organic Tomatoes on the Vine is now available through their greenhouses and is an example of unique benefits that Magic Sun offers its customers.

Organic Beefsteak tomatoes were also added to the product line for the 2018 season based on increasing consumer demand for the hearty, flavorful variety. On the conventional side, Magic Sun’s Brioso variety of cocktail tomatoes is showing a solid increase in sales as consumer demand is growing for snacking and salad varieties.

“We are greenhouse growers and are very proud of what we do,” commented Santander. “We are at work in our greenhouses every day to bring our customers the finest tomatoes. With our new branding program, we’re focused on sharing our story and helping new and existing customers see the full range of products and capabilities from the Magic Sun team.” Magic Sun is in Booth #113 at the Viva Fresh show in San Antonio, TX on April 7.
