GWA Crowns Jenna Brooke Saxon 2011 Watermelon Queen

The Georgia Watermelon Association is pleased to announce that Jenna Brooke Saxon, 21, of Carlton, GA, was crowned the 2011 Georgia Watermelon Queen during their annual meeting at Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club in Cordele, GA.

Saxon, the daughter of Mike and Tina Saxon, attends The University of Georgia where she is majoring in Agricultural Communications. She has served as the Chapter FFA President and Beta Club Treasurer. Additionally, she is an Honor Graduate, Master 4-Her, ABAC Dean's List and Washington's Youth Tour Recipient. Saxon enjoys spending her extra time volunteering with GA 4-H at State and District events.

As the 2011 Georgia Watermelon Queen, Saxon will represent Georgia's watermelon industry and Association in over 50 promotions in supermarkets, fairs and festivals during her reign as Georgia Watermelon Queen. At each appearance she will educate the consumers and media of the nutritional and economical value of watermelons.

Laura Lyn McCleod, 22, of Pineview, GA was named 1st Runner-Up and Jennifer Leanne Eadie, 18, of Ashburn, GA was named 2nd Runner-Up.
