Holland’s EOSTA Launches New Organic Convenience Concepts

If you know how delicious organic food is, there is a considerable chance you will be disappointed when eating at other places: there are hardly any organic products available at petrol stations, in school and works canteens or airports and stations. Eosta has reacted, with three new and trendy concepts: for the youngsters there is the cute, furry BIO-GIO alien who does good deeds and wants to save the earth, Bio To Go targets the out of home, on-the-road market, and Bio to Cook services those who require small amounts of shallots or herbs for a delicious, organic home-cooked three-course meal. Naturally, all of the concepts are supplied under the Nature & More trace-and-tell umbrella.

Organic consumers are developing and Eosta is happy to develop along with them, says Eosta Commercial Director Gert Kgeler. Many parents want to encourage their children to eat organic, but organic food is hard to come by when you are on the road or at school. We combine our extensive organic product assortment, flexible packaging lines and distributional force and are thus able to roll out new concepts all over Europe.

Bio Gio is available in supermarkets: attractive and fresh packaging with small apples, snack tomatoes, grapes and tangerines that easily fit in a lunch box. Log in on www.biogio.eu to meet the cheerful alien that shows you the places in the world where he helps to solve problems. This small do-gooder uses part of his profits to support good causes, such as a school project in Ghana. Naturally he also supports organic agriculture. BIO GIO is well suited for school canteens and the bags are suitable for sweet machines. Go to the site to download material for a project or report about the Bio Gio projects. This article clearly fulfils a need, as is proven from the first successful introduction at a Dutch supermarket and various school canteens.

Bio To Go is also intended for consumption while on the road and is currently being tested at petrol stations and outlets at airports and at stations and city centres where, according to Kgeler, the trendy and aware consumers are increasing. A study by Wageningen UR shows that the interest for organic products at these outlets is even more prominent, as opposed to supermarkets. The products in this new concept, come from Nature & More growers, where aspects such as social and organic qualities are highlighted. The selection includes bags of grapes, radish, apples, snack tomatoes and tangerines in display boxes.

Bio To Cook also includes Fair Trade organic products under Nature & More and eliminates annoyance caused if the selection of fresh fruit and vegetables in shops is too limited for the meal people wish to cook. Small (portion) packs with organic garlic, ginger, shallots, limes, fresh herbs etc. allow for measured purchases to put an entirely organic top meal on the table. Bio To Cook is also available in cheerful display boxes and can be packaged under the Private Label in Eostas modern packaging centre in Waddinxveen.
