SALINAS, Calif. – Oct. 5, 2010 – Mann Packing, a leading supplier of washed and ready-to-eat vegetables, will feature cutting edge innovations and staples of the past at the upcoming PMA Fresh Summit in Orlando.
Driven by recent buzz about the health benefits of sweet potatoes and the resulting consumer demand, Mann Packing developed fresh-cut sweet potato spears and cubes that will be showcased in PMA booth (#3781).
“Mann’s sweet potato spears are especially in demand as the holiday season approaches,” said Vice President of Marketing Lorri Koster, “but their popularity holds strong year-round with the explosion of sweet potato fries in the media and on restaurant menus.”
Featured at the Mann Packing booth along with sweet potato spears and butternut squash cubes will be Mann’s Meat & Cheese Platter, and other interesting new products will be unveiled.
Chef Adrienne Saldivar-Meier will prepare and serve Mann’s sweet potato scramblers with Canadian bacon at Mann Packing’s booth on Saturday, along with Mann’s butternut squash and Broccolini® salad with miso dressing. Returning to the menu by popular demand will be Mann’s confetti meat balls made with Mann’s broccoli cole slaw. Sunday’s menu will offer Broccoli Cole Slaw Scramblers with sausage and LoMein Asian stir fry with Sugar Snap® Peas and wasabi ginger dressing.
