Misionero Vegetables Celebrates 40-Year Anniversary

Gonzales, California – Misionero Vegetables celebrated 40 years of success with music and a full scale barbecue in July. The event was held to thank customers, vendors and employees for contributing to Misionero’s success. Local dignitaries as well as the Griffin family participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new expansion.

Misionero Vegetables was founded in 1973 by Floyd Griffin, a pioneer in the fresh-cut industry. Floyd felt there was a place in the Salinas Valley for a produce company that could succeed if it treated its people with respect and always balanced the choice between growth and quality. Initially, the company started out as a grower/harvester operation but it soon developed into a leader in the conventional and organic value-added produce industry.

Today, Misionero remains a privately- owned family business with Stephen Griffin serving as CEO and President. The company continues to focus on food safety, innovation, sustainability and on its people.

Misionero Vegetables is a family-owned and operated business, providing fresh, quality produce since 1973. Misionero Vegetables sells certified organic and conventional products under the Earth Greens® and Garden Life™ brands both domestically and internationally.
