New Half-Your-Plate Social Media Toolkit Now Available Online From PBH

Hockessin, Del.– Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) is pleased to announce the new Half-Your-Plate Social Media Marketing toolkit is now available on the PBH website, www.PBHFoundation.org. This useful new toolkit was designed to help members of the fruit and vegetable industry, educators, and public health professionals support the dietary recommendation to fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables via social messaging. The toolkit includes sample Facebook posts and tweets for Twitter that can be used in social media outreach efforts.

“After seeing PBH’s success with Twitter and Facebook, many donors and supporters of PBH requested a toolkit of materials they could use in their own social media outreach,” says Elizabeth Pivonka, president and CEO of PBH. “I encourage everyone to review the Half-Your-Plate Toolkit and incorporate some or all of the materials into their own social media conversations. Growers, processors, shippers, retailers, healthcare providers, educators – everyone can plan and conduct fun, interactive social media conversations using these toolkit materials as online conversation starters.”

Pivonka also suggests following Fruits & Veggies—More Matters on Facebook or Twitter and subscribing to the PBH Direct! e-newsletter to get the latest news regarding efforts to spread the message to fill half your plate as fruits and vegetables in support of USDA’s new ChooseMyPlate icon. PBH will continue to add new half-your-plate resources to the PBH Foundation and Fruits & Veggies—More Matters websites, and the nutrition education catalog over the next several months.

To receive a CD of the new toolkit materials in the mail, contact PBH Administrative Assistant Janet Skibicki.
