Potandon Promotes Klondike Potatoes With Summer Recipe Contest

Idaho Falls, ID – Potandon Produce has launched America’s Outdoor Recipe Contest, an innovative online recipe contest designed to build consumer enthusiasm for Klondike Potatoes™ and to generate traffic for www.KlondikeBrands.com.

To promote America’s Outdoor Recipe Contest, Potandon has assembled an extensive social media campaign involving targeted e-mails, Twitter posts, and a new Facebook iFrame. The highlight of the campaign: a special promotional video featuring Chef Bryan Woolley and Moses Kinikini, contestant from the latest season of NBC’s The Biggest Loser. Potandon will also be releasing healthy outdoor recipe videos featuring Chef Bryan and Moses periodically throughout the summer. All videos will be available on the Klondike Brands Facebook page and YouTube channel; recipe videos will also be available on the Klondike Brands website.

Participation is easy. Consumers simply go to KlondikeBrands.com and submit a recipe (with photo) for a grill or Dutch oven dish made with Klondike Rose®, Klondike Goldust®, Klondike Gourmet®, Klondike Fingerling®, and/or Klondike Medley® potatoes. Recipes and photos will then be published on the site, where consumers will vote for their favorites.

The entry with the most votes will win a grand prize family vacation to Yellowstone National Park, complete with round-trip airfare, vehicle rental, lodging, and park passes. Second and third place winners will receive a Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven with Grill and Oven, and twenty-five participants will receive honorable mentions.

Commenting on the contest, Barbara Keckler, Consumer Marketing Coordinator at Potandon said, “America’s Outdoor Recipe Contest is the first recipe contest where we have let consumers decide whose recipe they like best. We make it simple to submit their recipe, then the public votes for it throughout the summer. The most popular recipe gets that coveted trip to Yellowstone. We feel these contests give consumers a push to try new types of potatoes, then eventually become repeat buyers.”

Contest submissions will be accepted through August 31, and votes will be accepted through September 6. Winners will be announced once all votes are tallied.
