Progressive Produce Expands Their Eat Brighter! Packaging To Organics

Last year, Progressive Produce partnered with Sesame Workshop and the Produce Marketing Association and joined the eat brighter!™ movement – partnering the beloved characters of Sesame Street with the exceptional quality of Pacific Gold® Potatoes.

Progressive began by unveiling the eat brighter! packaging with Big Bird on a 5lb Red potato bag and Ernie on a 3lb Gold potato bag.

“These bags have shown great success among our customers. They make potatoes more attractive and have created interest from children and moms.” Says Jack Gyben, Vice President of Progressive Produce.

After the successful introduction of these colored potato bags in the fall, Progressive Produce has expanded their eat brighter! campaign to now include their Organic Line.  “We have once again partnered with Sesame Street and PMA and created 3lb Nature’s Bounty Organic bags that include Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster.”

“Organic produce is a fast growing category.  Moms and Dads want the reassurance that what they are providing their families is healthy.  It just made sense to then partner Nature’s Bounty® Organics with the wholesomeness and trust of Sesame Street’s wonderful characters,” said Gyben.

Customers can look for the eat brighter! line of Nature’s Bounty Organics to hit the market this month in March.

The eat brighter! movement is a unique and powerful collaboration between Sesame Workshop and Produce Marketing Association (PMA) that encourages kids ages 2–5 to eat more fruits and veggies. The collaboration, commissioned by the Partnership for a Healthier America, works with the private sector and PHA Honorary Chair First Lady Michelle Obama to broker commitments to help end the childhood obesity epidemic.
