On September 5, 2014, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto presented Rene Carrillo Sr. and Rene Carrillo Jr., the Founder and CEO of Rene Produce LLC, with the prestigious Exporter of the Year Award for 2014 at the recent National Exporter of the Year Award Ceremony held in Mazatlan, September 3-5.
The award recognizes Rene’s parent company and farming operations, Exportalizas Mexicanas S.A. de C.V., based in Culiacan, Mexico. The “Large Agricultural” Exporter category award recognizes the company’s leadership role in Social Responsibilities, Sustainability, Farming and Product Innovation, Job Creation, Food Safety, and Safe Secure Logistics/Transportation services. Rene Carrillo Jr., the company’s CEO , said, “My father and I humbly accept this prestigious recognition today for the many thousands of hard-working people who make it all possible.” This is the second time Rene Produce has received the honor being named Exporter of the Year in 2007.
