Search Underway For New North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission Executive Director

After serving as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission for 20 years Sue Johnson-Langdon is stepping down. During her reign the North Carolina Sweet Potato industry sales have grown from $41.6 million to approximately $300 million. In 1995 when Sue started, North Carolina represented only 3% of the U.S. Sweet Potato market, and today represents nearly 50% of all sweet potatoes grown in the United States with an export market that is recognized in 17 foreign countries and throughout Europe.
