April 19, Salinas, CA – Doug Ranno, COO and managing partner of Colorful Harvest, one of the fastest growing produce operations on California’s central coast, has announced the hiring of Sigal Marash as their Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety. “We are particularly excited to have the benefit of someone with Sigal’s broad experience as our senior quality assurance person. The company has experienced strong growth throughout 2009 and Sigal will add depth to our team to support and sustain that growth,” said Ranno.
Marash has worked with a variety of international agricultural services and consulting businesses over the course of her career. She comes to Colorful Harvest with over eleven years combined experience in both food safety & quality assurance, and in product management for the vegetable seed industry. “Sigal’s fluency in multiple languages and her international experience in agribusiness will be of great value as we expand our operations around the world,” said Ranno.
Marash holds an M.B.A. in Agribusiness from Santa Clara University, and a B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Florida. She is also an Agronomist through Escuela Agricola Panamericana, El Zamorano, Honduras; and will complete her certificate in Project & Program Management through the UC Santa Cruz extension in December 2010.
