Specialty Potato Alliance Succeeds With New PMA Format

Anaheim, CA – “This was definitely the right move for us” noted an exuberant Richard Leibowitz commenting on the success of Specialty Potato Alliances’ new expanded booth. “Last year in a booth half the size, we created a lot of excitement but the crown was too large and a lot of potential customers just passed us by. This year the expanded booth not only allowed us to tell our story from a distance, we could also reach a larger crowd and invite customers into the booth to really explain our programs and personally walk them through our family of products.  These meetings are more meaningful and make the follow-up connections much easier.  We were even able to sign up some new customers on the spot in our booth,” concluded Leibowitz.

Dale Firman, the west coast distributor for the Alliance as well as a founding member concurred. “Although I was working at the Cooseman Booth I would walk my customers over to the SPA booth to show them the SPA programs. Unlike last year were they could barely get to the display, the layout and length of the new booth allowed us to logically introduce our customers to our products.  The sampling topped everything off.  Customers were impressed with the comfort and layout of the SPA Booth where they could easily view our family of products and the taste of our exclusive varieties.”

“This year a lot of things came together,” notes Mark Pittenger, sales director for the Alliance. “We had a great crop, a new facility and an expanded booth. This allowed for many more meetings and we were able to reach out to more customers.”   Sheldon Rockey and Scott Pursel, our primary growers from Colorado and California also found that they had more time to discuss and explain their award winning farming practices.”

“We are going to change the way America eats potatoes one taste bud at a time,” said Leibowitz. “We have a wide selection of awesome products and we need to educate the consumer to let them know they have choices. From earth safe farming to the incredible Red Rebel, Rockey Rose and Merlot, we need to get the message out. While the Fresh Summit has always been a good showcase for us, the expanded booth will allow for significantly greater exposure.
