UK: Affinitus Announces Launch Of Agrilogik, A New Innovation For Fresh Produce Companies

London, UK – Affinitus has announced the launch of a new software solution for fruit and vegetable growers and distributors, Agrilogik, which has been designed to make the management of fresh produce information straightforward, from quality control data to the latest harvest updates.

The culmination of three years’ work, Agrilogik follows on from the success of Affinitus’ established software systems, Freshware and Chefserve, but with even more of an emphasis on bringing the information required by producers and exporters together into one place.

The system was launched during Affinitus’ appearance at the London Produce Show on 4 June, the first time the company has participated in a trade event as an exhibitor.

Specifically designed for the technical departments of fresh produce companies, Agrilogik is aimed at improving the management of information necessary when handling fresh produce, such as quality assurance and the documentation kept alongside this, and quality control.

The software further includes the latest labour force management regulations as required by law, and has been designed for use with field-based handheld devices – such as tablets – that can be used to capture up-to-date harvest information.

This means, said Affinitus managing director Paul Hardy, that growers can benefit from access to accurate crop and yield forecasts each season, ensuring accurate planning and in the process helping avoid unnecessary delays or order duplications – vital when meeting retailer demands.

“All of a sudden, we have a system available that allows you to do something different because technology has finally caught up with what we wanted to offer clients five years ago,” said Hardy.

Complete picture

Affinitus has been providing innovative software systems to the fresh produce sector for almost 25 years through its Freshware solution, while its Chefserve solution has been helping make life easier for foodservice companies for over two decades.

With clients across the UK, Hardy said Affinitus had based its success – whether in fresh produce or foodservice – on providing companies with a complete picture of their current status with data from every area of their business.

“Freshware is unrivalled in its ability to offer cost savings and keep detailed information on all the costs associated with the movement of fresh produce,” he said.

“Although many software providers offer systems that monitor basic trading details, they do not understand the importance of having every piece of information to hand when preparing account sales and management accounts.”

Regular client site visits mean that many of Affinitus’ innovations are customer-driven, with software development being led by clients’ changing requirements as their businesses expand.

Affinitus also places a strong emphasis on research and development, assessing the latest technology as it becomes available to identify areas where its software solutions can be further improved.

“We have undertaken a number of new developments over the last two years, which without doubt have changed the way our existing clients do business and make differences every day to our customers, improving profit, efficiencies and information available,” said Hardy.

“Our customers are able to do more work with the same amount of staff, but with less duplication, fewer delays and fewer customer complaints due to more accurate picking.”
