Cheney Brothers, a Florida-based food distributor, will invest $24 million in an expansion that will add 105 full-time jobs at its food-distribution facility in Statesville Business Park, the company confirmed Wednesday.
The 160,000-square-foot addition will allow the company to expand its refrigeration capabilities at the facility and serve a broader area, Warren Newell, director of development at Cheney Brothers, told the Record & Landmark.
The city and Iredell County late last year approved a combined $900,000 in tax incentives for the company, which also considered moving the entire Statesville operation to Georgia or Florida.
