Costco Plans To Open 150 Stores Over The Next Five Years

We know Costco likes Texas.

CFO Richard Galanti said during the warehouse club’s quarterly earnings call yesterday that its strongest U.S. sales increases came from its 19 stores in Texas. The Southeast was also noted for generating top fiscal third quarter sales gains.

Costco has circled Dallas with store openings over the past several years in Duncanville, Fort Worth, Arlington, Southlake, Lewisville, West and East Plano, Frisco and Rockwall.

And its real estate reps have measured every stretch of North Central Expressway south of LBJ Freeway. Rumors that Costco was close to picking a spot accelerate from time to time.
