Dot Foods Expanding To Tennessee

Mt. Sterling, Ill. – Dot Foods, Inc., the nations' largest food redistributor, has chosen Dyersburg, Tennessee as the site of the company's ninth distribution center.  Construction of this new, $24 million facility will begin this fall in the Dyersburg Industrial Park on State Highway 211 and will bring 157 new jobs to Dyersburg.  The company has already appointed 25-year Dot Foods veteran Tim Loyd as the new facility's general manager.

The distribution center is scheduled to open in September 2014, and a temporary office will open in September 2013. The new facility will be 166,494 square feet in size and include frozen, refrigerated and ambient storage; a 125,000-square-foot warehouse; and a 9,500-square-foot truck and tractor garage.  It will service Dot Foods distributor customers in middle and western Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and western Kentucky.

Having spent more than 25 years with Dot Foods, Loyd most recently served as general manager for the company's distribution center in Cambridge City, Indiana, a location he helped open in 2007.
