First lady Michelle Obama, in Philadelphia to promote her new campaign against childhood obesity, stunned shoppers when she stopped by a Fresh Grocer in North Philadelphia this morning.
According to a pool report filed by Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Alfred Lubrano, the first lady was greeted by shoppers chanting “we love you.”
Making her way across the store to a fruit smoothie machine, Obama ordered a strawberry-banana smoothie. When a worker pulled out a $20 to pay for it, the first lady said, “I have my own money.”
