Lowes Foods Expands Consumers’ Personal Shopping Service

Customers with a short shopping list and an even shorter amount of time are getting a new way to do their grocery shopping.

Lowes Foods is testing a Lowes Foods To Go Express service in two stores in Forsyth County and two in Hickory. The local locations are the Lowes Foods on Robinhood Road and the store in Clemmons.

The supermarket chain has offered Lowes Foods To Go since 1997 in some of its stores. The program is a personal shopping service that allows customers to place orders online or by phone, and Lowes Foods employees go through the stores and grab the items for them. Customers then pick up the orders, usually in the stores.

Typically, customers have to order Lowes Foods To Go items with a three-hour lead time.

But Ted Moser, the director of customer loyalty for Lowes Foods, said that customers with shorter shopping lists can order 15 items or fewer through Lowes Foods To Go Express and pick them up in an hour or less.
