Mariano's Fresh Market will open Tuesday near Jefferson Park — the third outlet for owner Roundy's Supermarket Inc. in the city of Chicago.
The new 63,341 square foot location at 5353 N. Elston Avenuewill employ 450 people and will serve Forest Glen, Jefferson Park and surrounding neighborhoods. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In addition to Mariano's usual selection of fresh produce, meat, seafood, prepared foods and baked goods the new store will have an enhanced vitamin section, an on-site Sushi Chef, fresh pizza, Italian gelato and a full service coffee bar, specialty cheese shop and a wine section.
To commemorate the opening on Tuesday, the store will give away Hudsonville ice cream samples from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, it will distribute free Chicago style hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
