Michigan’s L&L Sells Its Last Three Michigan Stores

The L&L name is disappearing from the local grocery landscape but some of the company’s former stores will live on under new ownership.

Three remaining L&L Food Center grocery stores in Okemos, East Lansing and Lansing were auctioned off Tuesday by Birmingham-based Amherst Partners, L&L’s court-appointed receiver.

Tom’s Food Center in Portland purchased the store at 1619 W. Grand River Ave. in Okemos.

“We’re hoping we can give it a good go here,” said vice president Steve Antaya, whose father, Tom Antaya, bought the Portland store in 1982.
