Publix Announces First Stores For Myrtle Beach & Pawleys Island, South Carolina

LAKELAND, Fla.– Publix Super Markets Inc. announced it will enter the North Myrtle Beach and Pawleys Island, South Carolina market with two stores.

The first lease is for North Myrtle Beach located in the Coastal North Town Center at Hwy 17 and Moss Place. The store will be a 49,000-square-foot Publix supermarket and is expected to open in late 2014.

The second lease is for Pawleys Island in the Pawleys Island Plaza at Hwy 17 & Petigru Drive. The store, part of a redevelopment of an existing shopping center, will be a 45,000- square-foot Publix supermarket and is expected to open in early 2015.

The grand opening dates for both locations will depend on several factors, including permitting and completion of the store’s construction.
