Publix Plans Next-Gen, Delivery-Focused Store In Longwood

Publix Super Markets is planning a smaller-format store in Longwood focused on delivery, taking aim at growing competition from Walmart and Amazon.

A developer has been talking with the City of Longwood to redevelop the New Assembly of God church at 675 Longwood Hills Road into the new Publix store, said Longwood economic development manager Tom Krueger.

A smaller-format store at less than 30,000 square feet, it would serve the large surrounding residential neighborhoods, but also have some kind of specialized pick-up area for delivery services.
