Sprouts Farmers Market Plunges As CEO Amin Maredia Unexpectedly Resigns

Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM) plunged Friday after the natural foods grocer abruptly announced CEO Amin Maredia is leaving.

Maredia is resigning as of Dec. 30 to "pursue other interests," according to a press release. He had led Sprouts Farmers Market for the past three years, presiding over rapid growth at the supermarket chain.

President and COO Jim Nielsen and CFO Brad Lukow will serve as co-interim CEOs while Sprouts Farmers Market searches for a replacement.
