When City Refrigeration started looking for a site for its U.S. headquarters, Jacksonville made sense: The global company is entering the North American market through a partnership with Southeastern Grocers, which is based here.
That didn't stop the company from looking elsewhere, though, City Refrigeration CEO Gerry Phimister said in an exclusive interview with the Business Journal, with at least one other city in the running.
What led to the final decision to call Jacksonville home: the efforts of city leaders and the quality of the area's workforce, Phimister said.
