Bristol Seafood Named ‘2016 Vendor Of The Year’ By Santa Monica Seafood

Portland, ME – Bristol Seafood is pleased to be named the “2016 Vendor of the Year” by Santa Monica Seafood, a leading supplier of quality fish to Albertsons/Vons and other West Coast companies.

Roger O’Brien, CEO of Santa Monica Seafood noted, “We chose Bristol Seafood as our Vendor of the Year because they epitomize a great vendor partner.  They have a very high fulfillment rate, little to no quality issues, and they are great at not only providing us market data, but also presenting us several options before we make a strategic purchase.  Because of this excellent relationship and partnership we have with Bristol Seafood, our purchases from them in 2016 increased 26%.  We like to reward vendors who service us as well as Bristol Seafood has with more business.”

Added Peter Handy, CEO and President of Bristol Seafood, “We are honored to be recognized by an industry leader in traceable and sustainable seafood, and are excited to share our commitment to quality with the West Coast.”

Additionally, Bristol Seafood is proud to announce the hiring of Ted McDermott as Regional Sales Manager of their new branch on the West Coast.

McDermott recently served as Fresh and Frozen Sales Representative of E&E Foods, a Seattle-based seafood processor and wholesaler. He has more than 10 years of experience working in the seafood industry, and is passionate about integrity and quality in the marketplace.

“That’s what attracted me to Bristol,” said McDermott, “They have a vision of transparency and quality for seafood that I really wanted to be a part of.” McDermott spent time in Maine as a graduate of Colby College and is an experienced fly fishing guide as well.

Jimmy Davolio, Vice President of Sales at Bristol Seafood, noted “Ted is an excellent addition to our team on the West Coast and brings the knowledge and integrity that make Bristol a truly special company.” McDermott will cover the West Coast from his offices in Seattle.
