Florida’s Escambia Bay Reopens For Harvest Of Oysters, Clams

Escambia Bay has reopened for the harvest of oysters, clams and mussels.

The shellfish harvesting areas reopened at sunrise today, said the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in a news release.

The reopening is in compliance with the department’s management plan, the release said.

The harvest of scallops, shrimp or crabs is not affected. For questions about the harvest of scallops, call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at 487-0554.
