Governor LePage Wants More Lobster Processing In Maine

AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine Gov. Paul LePage is using his weekly radio address to talk about the need to bolster processing plants so the state doesn’t ship so much lobster to Canada.

LePage says it’s important to process the lobster — making them into products like frozen tails — in Maine where value is added and jobs are created.

He says the reason there are only three lobster-processing plants in Maine but more than 40 of them in Canada is because of the high cost of doing business in Maine.
