Maine Officials Say Lobster Prices To Remain Low This Year

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – State officials say there is not much they can do to help Maine's lobstermen with the low prices they are likely to receive for their catch this year.

At standing room only meetings yesterday in Bath and Scarborough, officials with the Maine Department of Marine Resources said the upcoming season's catch is likely to be similar to last year's.

Lobstermen say they hope to come up with a plan to raise prices, which were so low that many barely covered expenses.
