Mississippi Meeting To Address Seafood Safety Concerns

BILOXI, Miss. – A public meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, to discuss Mississippi Gulf seafood safety and to provide the public with the latest information available. The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frank G. Gruich Community Center, 591 Howard Ave., Biloxi.

The panel will include representatives from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is dedicated to enhancing, protecting and conserving marine interests of the state by managing all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide for the optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economic uses of these resources consistent with environmental concerns and social changes.
