BILOXI, MS – On the supply side, shrimpers are out looking for Mississippi shrimp. As for demand, consumers are hoping to find shrimp from Mississippi waters.
Jim Gunkel with Quality Seafood in Biloxi says the search is on for Mississippi shrimp.
"They want something local. Even the casinos and restaurants are asking for local shrimp. Everybody wants the domestic product. We're getting a lot out of Florida and Louisiana right now because Mississippi shrimp is not coming in."
Quality Seafood in Biloxi did have some Mississippi shrimp over the weekend. It sold out quickly.
