Morey's Seafood International Achieves BRC Certification

MINNEAPOLIS – BRC Certification Grade A – The Specialty Products processing facility for Morey’s Seafood International has earned British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification under the Global Standard for Food Safety. The Motley, Minnesota based facility has earned certification with a grade of “A” which is the highest grade available.

BRC has become a benchmark for best practice in the food industry for evaluating both manufactures and retailers. BRC audits are based on seven sub-categories: senior management commitment, food safety plan (HACCP), food safety and quality management system, site standards, product control, process control and personnel.

As the bar is raised for food quality and manufacturing practices around the globe Morey’s has spearheaded a quest for a higher standard of quality within its facilities. Earlier this year Morey’s Minnesota Processing and Distribution center, located in Golden Valley, MN, completed their BRC certification with a Grade A.

With complete management commitment from President Jim Walstrom, he is quoted as saying, “Our client base demands and deserves the very best, especially where food safety is concerned. While Morey’s has always excelled in food safety, this BRC Certification just makes us better. It represents our commitment and promise to deliver the quality and safety that our clients and consumers expect from us now and into the future.”
