Live lobster can now be shipped in a more environmentally sustainable way, thanks to a Dartmouth company.
“It’s starting to move along,” Gary Humphries, president and CEO of Trans Industrial Packaging Ltd., said Wednesday.
Trans Industrial’s Thermafresh container, launched in 2010, has become increasingly popular with fish suppliers and major grocery chains like Sobeys and big box stores like Target because more than 90 per cent of the box is recyclable.
“They’re helping achieve sustainable targets in landfill reduction,” Humphries said.
