More Than $ 23,000 Raised For Milk Through Fill a Glass With Hope Campaign During National Dairy Month

American Dairy Association North East partnered with Price Chopper/Market 32 for the Fill a Glass with Hope® campaign during National Dairy Month that raised $23,011, including a $13,661 match from the retailer. Shoppers “rounded up” their change at checkout throughout the month of June to help local food bank secure more than 10,000 half-gallons of milk for local families in need.

“Alleviating hunger in Pennsylvania has been a personal priority for Tom and me for many years,” said First Lady Frances Wolf. “It’s a sad reality that over 1.5 million Pennsylvanians are food insecure in the commonwealth today. In an agricultural state as rich and diverse as ours, we have the power and the necessary resources to change that narrative, and programs like Fill a Glass with Hope play a critical role in this important work.”

FirstEnergy Foundation Donates to Support Fill a Glass with Hope Milk Program

Since it began in 2015, Fill a Glass with Hope has helped Pennsylvania’s food banks provide more than 10 million servings of milk to needy families across the state. The program is a partnership between Feeding Pennsylvania, the American Dairy Association Northeast and the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association. This is the third year The FirstEnergy Foundation has sponsored the program.

Governor Tom Wolf, First Lady Frances Wolf, and Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding joined former NFL star, Jason Avant, dairy industry leaders, Feeding PA food bank leaders, Miss PA Kayla Repasky, Pennsylvania dairy royalty, and American Dairy Association North East (ADANE) to kick off the 2019 Fill a Glass with Hope® campaign.
