USTR, USDA to Pursue Avenues to Assist Seasonal Produce Industry

The Office of the United States Trade Representative today announced that it will pursue avenues to assist the Southeast seasonal produce industry in coordination with the United States Department of Agriculture after Members of Congress requested an examination of certain issues in a September 8, 2022, Section 301 petition.

Florida Tomatoes are Available Despite Impact from Hurricane Ian

Florida’s November tomato crop will be smaller than normal due to the impact of Hurricane Ian, but Florida will remain a significant supplier from now through December.  The weather since the hurricane has been ideal, allowing growers to quickly recuperate fields.  This means that even those farms that sustained damage will be able to harvest a portion of their crop.

Samaritan’s Purse has three Disaster Relief Units in Florida—Fort Myers, Englewood, and Punta Gorda—where volunteers are helping hurting homeowners in Jesus’ name.

DNO Produce Rallies Fresh Produce and Water Donation For Hurricane Ian Victims

In the wake of Hurricane Ian, DNO Produce (DNO) has mobilized seven companies to donate 25,950 pounds of ready-to-eat produce and 350 cases of bottled water to storm victims. CityServe, a national collaborative network of churches, will distribute the donation to affected families.
