Rachel Rynda (RIN-da), a 19-year-old college student from Montgomery, Minnesota, representing Le Sueur County, was crowned the 69th Princess Kay of the Milky Way in an evening ceremony Aug. 24 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

Midwest Dairy Names Molly Pelzer as Next CEO

Midwest Dairy, the organization representing 7,000 dairy families across the Midwest, announced that the Corporate Board of Directors has chosen Molly Pelzer as the organization’s next chief executive officer. Pelzer, who currently serves as Midwest Dairy’s chief experience officer, succeeds outgoing CEO Lucas Lentsch and will assume the role October 1.

Minnesota Cheesemaker Featured in National Farm-to-Table Education Curriculum

Minnesota dairy farmer and cheesemaker, Alise Sjostrom, is featured in Discover Education, a program designed to bring dairy farming into classrooms across the nation. Sjostrom is part of a “Farmer Spotlight” lesson plan during which students learn more about her family’s sustainability practices on the dairy farm, their commitment to animal care and how her passion for cheese-making led to her running the farm’s onsite creamery, Redhead Creamery.
