National Seafood Council Task Force Shares Pathways to Funding National Seafood Marketing Campaign

The National Seafood Council Task Force is releasing its Initial Findings Report, which highlights pathways to funding for a National Seafood Marketing Campaign and governing structure considerations for the National Seafood Council (NSC). The Task Force met in September to brainstorm ways to rally the industry, discuss the organizational infrastructure, and secure funding for a National Seafood Marketing Campaign. The Task Force is now seeking industry input into the proposed plan with the goal of building consensus around forming the National Seafood Council to conduct a National Seafood Marketing Campaign.

The National Seafood Council Task Force is holding an initial Expert Working Group meeting in Arlington, Va., on Sept. 21 to help inform the design of the National Seafood Council to conduct the most comprehensive, consumer-facing seafood marketing campaign in our nation’s history. Findings from this initial meeting will be shared with the broader seafood community.

Scholarships Now Available for Seafood Business Leaders to Join National Seafood Council Task Force

The National Seafood Council Task Force, with the support from the Walton Family Foundation, is announcing the launch of a scholarship program to open up more opportunities for small- and medium-sized seafood businesses to participate in this important initiative to develop a holistic consumer marketing and education campaign. To be representative of the entire seafood supply chain, the Task Force is seeking nominations for seafood business leaders whose annual company revenue is less than $20 million.
