Islanders Collect Free Potatoes at “Fill Your Boots” Event

Islanders turned out to collect thousands of pounds of free potatoes at this year’s “Fill Your Boots” event.  G Visser and Sons, Monaghan Farms, and Spud Isle Farms collaborated with the PEI Potato Board for the initiative, the fourth event in the past three years.  In a heartwarming display of community spirit, nearly 900 attendees seized the opportunity to fill their boots with free potatoes provided by these farms.

Canadian Potato Council Commends Conclusion of CFIA’s Soil Testing in Prince Edward Island

The Canadian Potato Council (CPC) is pleased that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has completed its investigation in Prince Edward Island. Since fall 2021, almost 50,000 soil samples have been collected on the Island as part of Agency’s investigation to manage potato wart.

Island Farms Once Again Offer to “Fill Your Boots” with Free PEI Potatoes

To help offset rising food costs, four Island farms are opening their potato storages to Islanders.  Visitors are invited to help themselves and pick unwashed potatoes directly from the pile in storage.  The event occurs Saturday, March 11th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
