Americans love chicken wings. Last year they ate three billion pounds of the sauce-covered poultry products. Buffalo Wild Wings, a Minneapolis-based restaurant chain that specializes in wings, has a market cap in excess of $1 billion. Great Sea, my favorite wing place in Chicago, makes Korean-style wings that are so addictive they have wall of fame for most wings consumed by one person in a sitting. (The record is 90.) Americans also love pork. So why not combine those two loves and create an innovative new type of food: Pig wings?

Tropical Storm Isaac's Floods Are Big Setback For Plant Nurseries

Tropical Storm Isaac’s floods led to the disappearance of several thousand plants at Dave Self’s Wyld West Nursery. “I probably had 5,000 of my plants just up and float down the river,” Self said Thursday. Like the owners of the rest Palm Beach County’s 450 or so plant nurseries, Self needs more time to assess the damage the storm left behind, but it appears to be extensive and substantial.

River Ridge student Hope Schier and teacher Shane Sperle were recently chosen as the Wisconsin Student Ambassador and Wisconsin Advisor of the Year for Fuel Up to Play 60. Fuel Up to Play 60 is an all-school nutrition and physical activity program sponsored locally by Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and Green Bay Packers.
