Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-AL) confirmed that they added language to the FY2018 Commerce, Justice and Science Subcommittee bill to ensure that the Seafood Import Monitoring Program for shrimp is fully implemented on the same timeline with all other species. This CJS bill was passed by the full Senate Appropriations.

The sixth annual Patrick Cudahy® "Race for the Bacon" 5K Run and Walk returned to Sheridan Park in Cudahy on Thursday, with participants helping to fund research to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes. A portion of the race proceeds are going to the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Hormel’s Dold Foods Plans To Bring Nearly 400 Jobs To Wichita

Mayor Jeff Longwell announced Thursday that the Dold Foods food plant in north Wichita expects to expand and add nearly 400 new jobs. Longwell said the Dold plant, which produces sliced bacon, currently has about 275 employees.
