Wisconsin Governor Issues Proclamation Declaring June Dairy Month

Governor Scott Walker released a proclamation declaring June as Wisconsin’s official “Dairy Month.”  Wisconsin’s dairy industry contributes more than $26.5 billion to Wisconsin’s economy per year and employs more than 146,000 people.  With more than 140 cheese plants and nearly 11,000 dairy farms, Wisconsin produces 600 varieties of cheese—nearly double that of any other state, according to the Wisconsin Agricultural Statistics Service and Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board.
