Sandwich lovers nationwide can submit their recipes in the Slice of Gold recipe contest today through Noon EST on July 7 for the opportunity to win a private volleyball clinic with two-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor. The sandwich name, directions and ingredients, including type of Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat Bread or Sandwich Thins® roll, can be submitted to the Slice of Gold tab at https://www.facebook.com/arnoldandoroweatbread. For inspiration, check out Misty’s favorite sandwiches on Facebook, like her tuna on Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat Health-full® 10 Grain Bread. Each 80-calorie slice of Health-full 10-Grain bread is baked with whole grains, 5 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein.
“My diet is an important part of how well I perform on the court. So I make healthy choices, but I won’t sacrifice taste for nutrition,” said Misty, who serves as a judge of the contest. “I’m looking for a sandwich that’s creative and good for you, and still tastes great too.”
Abby Wambach, a cooking aficionado who dreams of owning a restaurant one day, shares her cooking tips and original sandwich recipes, including Turkey Panini with a Kick. Starting on June 25 and continuing through August 9, Arnold/Brownberry/Oroweat will launch a sweepstakes to win Olympic Games-themed prizes, with the grand prize of a soccer clinic with Abby.
