An east side Columbus kosher bakery is getting new life inside Kroger.
Matt’s Bakery, 3311 E. Broad St., plans to move to a 1,500-square-foot space inside the Kroger supermarket at 3675 E. Broad St. a half-mile to the east.
“For us, this was a great opportunity to build our business,” said owner Matthew Cooper, who opened the bakery with his wife, Mindy, in 2005. “They obviously have a lot more foot traffic than we do.”
Matt's Bakery will remain open until the supermarket site is ready, expected to be by Hanukkah at the latest, though Cooper hopes to make the move before then.
