Knoxville, TN's Flour Head Bakery Bakes Bread The International Way

If you're looking for fresh-baked bread, including international breads, Flour Head Bakery delectables may satisfy your appetite.

Although Flour Head Bakery at 5424 Middlebrook Pike bakes bread only for wholesale, it can be bought at the Krogers at Cedar Bluff Road, in Bearden, in Farragut, on Middlebrook Pike and on Northshore Drive. The bakery also sells to small, specialty markets — Butler and Bailey on Northshore Drive, Three Rivers Market on North Central Ave. and Just Ripe on Union Avenue.

The bakery opened in mid-May and is owned by Mahasti Vafaie and Scott Partin, husband and wife and partners as well as owners of Tomato Head on Market Square and in the Gallery shopping center on Kingston Pike. The Flour Head Bakery Products also can be purchased at the Tomato Head in the Gallery.

"I really wanted to be able to provide Knoxville with some breads not available in Knoxville," Vafaie said. "That's what I still hope to do. I like the international aspect of it. I would like to introduce Knoxville to breads from all over the world. I'm researching and finding out what people eat around the holidays."
