Louisiana Home-Baking Law Awaits Governor's Signature

A push to allow home bakers to sell their cakes and cookies looks set to be signed into law by Gov. Bobby Jindal.

The legislation to allow up to $20,000 in home-baked sales was originally crafted by Thibodaux home baker Roxane Daigle. But the move is not without critics who fear less oversight in home kitchens and the undercutting of professional bakers' prices.

Daigle is not a lobbyist and until a few years ago wasn't a dedicated baker.

Her love for baking grew from the love of her now 4-year-old grandson Mason.
