New IDDBA Mentor Grant Offers Members Up to $1,000

Madison, WI — The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA) has announced the launch of its new Mentor Grant that offers grants up to $1,000 to employees of member companies who have or are starting a mentor relationship with emerging professionals within their business. The program goal is to encourage seasoned professionals to be mentors and to share their experiences with the next generation of company leaders, whether they’re recent graduates, new to the industry, or on a new career path.

“Through a successful mentorship program, companies can help bring to light the tremendous career opportunities that exist in the food industry,” said Jonathan Whalley, education coordinator, IDDBA. “Sharing experiences and participating in real-life corporate activities can give mentees a dynamic look at our exciting industry and hopefully encourage them to take a deeper look into all of the possibilities that exist.”

The IDDBA Mentor Grant is open to employees of IDDBA member companies. Qualified mentors awarded the $1,000 grant can use the funds for work-related activities and training such as: trade show registration; professional workshops, seminars, and books; networking events; store and facility tours; job shadowing; and flights and hotel costs for mentor/mentee meetings.

The deadline to submit an application is April 15, 2016.
