Oakrun Farm Bakery Introduces Canada's First 'Savoury' English Muffins

ANCASTER, ON – Oakrun Farm Bakery recently launched a new line of savoury English muffins that are quite simply going to change the way consumers think about English muffins.  Oakrun's new Savoury brand features three new flavours, including Jalapeno Salsa, Toasted Onion & Smoked Black Pepper and Sundried Tomato Basil. They join a tasty and wholesome family of English muffins — cheese, whole wheat, raisin & cinnamon, whole grain, blueberry buttermilk and plain – that makes Oakrun the undisputed innovation leader in the English muffin category.

Clearly, with the introduction of the three new savoury flavours, English muffins are not just for breakfast anymore.

"Of course, English muffins have long been associated with breakfast but now the Savoury line offers consumers an alternative to breads and buns for lunch sandwiches, anytime snacks as well as suppertime options," said Andra Zondervan, Director of Marketing.

Oakrun Farm Bakery has long had a reputation for unmatched quality, consistency and innovation – and the Savoury line-up provides even more evidence of that. Tapping into snacking trends and consumers' love of English muffins, market research revealed that the reception to the new flavours was exceptional on the part of every member of the family. Savoury was launched in bold new graphic packaging, six to a bag, and rapidly found its way to store shelves.

"There's no question the versatility of these new products offers all kinds of innovative recipe prospects and should really give consumers new ways to enjoy English muffins all day long with everything from meats to cheeses to vegetarian options," Zondervan continued.

The three new savoury English muffin flavours are low in sodium, low in fat, low in saturated fat (0 trans fat, 0 cholesterol), are under 140 calories and certified kosher. Oakrun Farm Bakery Savoury English muffins are available at these fine retailers:  Metro, Food Basics, Longos, Loblaw Superstores, Loblaw, Highland Farms, Zehrs, and select YIG, Valumart and Fortino stores. Product flavours available vary by retailer.
