Provence Breads & Cafe, a pillar in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood and a major wholesale supplier of breads and pastries, closed suddenly last week after more than two decades.
Multiple attempts to reach a Provence representative have been unsuccessful over the past four days. As of Monday morning, the cafe’s doors were locked, the lights were dimly lit and no one was visible inside. Several families walked up to the cafe to discover it was shuttered.
A Facebook page was created ahead of the closure last week called Provence Bread Bakers Alumni.
